Welcome to Sydney Sustainable Markets @ Taylor Square. At our Farmers Market, each Saturday between 8am and 1pm, you will discover fresh, seasonal, delicious foods brought by the producers directly to you.
At Sydney Sustainable Markets, we’re not interested in being just another food market, we’re passionate about being part of a sustainable Food Revolution. We’re a community organization dedicated to promoting a sustainable food system AND to providing you with simple ways to do the same.
Every dollar you spend on food has incredible power – it affects the future of the Australian food industry, your health, our environment, the livelihood of our nation’s farmers and producers and so much more. Your food choices matter.
As you explore the market expect to find seasonal fruit and vegetables (organic & low chemical input), free range poultry and eggs, rare breed meats, fish, hand made pasta, artisan cheeses, condiments, organic bread, olive oil, honey, flowers, herbs and much, much more. And each week look out for new producers and farmers and even some local Sydney gardeners sharing their very own produce!
We invite you join us at Sydney Sustainable Markets and become part of a sustainable Food Revolution by:
- Supporting a local farmer: Become a regular, weekly customer of at least one of our farmers, thereby making a significant investment into sustainable farming practices.
- Increasing your Organic/Chemical Free purchases: Count the hidden cost of conventionally produced food, and increase your weekly purchases of organic/chemical free even by one or two veges.
- Eating Seasonally to reduce your food miles: Our market only offers local fruit & vege in season – buying this way radically reduces your food miles.
- Information: Join us at the market for ‘The Real Deal’ mini talks on sustainable food options
